Sway of Ethics and Interpersonal Skills Training On Staff Competence

Attah, F. M., Ojong Felix E., Agba A. M. Ogaboh & Coker, F.
Abstract:
This study examined the sway of ethical and interpersonal skills training on staff competence in selected agro-based industries in Cross River State, Nigeria. Two agro-based firms were purposively selected for the study. The study adopted the survey design method in sorting out 588 participants. The sample size was arrived at using Taro Yamane sample size determinant. Data generated was statistically tested using Pearson product-moment correlation statistical technique. Results revealed that interpersonal skills and ethics training significantly influenced staff competence. This result suggests that the management of agro-based industries and other organisations alike should provide opportunities for the career development of staff. Management should put in place, and judiciously following a well-defined training programme for all categories of workers based on identified needs.

Optimisation of Blasting In Mines : The Case Of The M'HOUDATT Mine

Zouerate, Mauritania and Ahmed HEMED, Latifa OUADIF
Abstract:
Layout of blasting patterns appears to be a major issue for slope stability in the M’HAOUDATT highwall sector.
The M'HAOUDATT deposit has experienced landslides at the pit wall which occur after blasting.
The blasting operation is the first element in the process of granulometric reduction and plays a particularly important role in the stability of the slopes.
The objective of this paper is to limit the secondary fragmentation of large blocks that can be generated by blasting, and to significantly improve the working conditions of the loading and transport equipment of the blasted products.
Secondly, we plan to control the propagation of the shock wave and the nuisances generated by the operation, by meeting the regulatory requirements (in particular with regard to vibrations) and guaranteeing the safety of the operation;
The effect of slippage is an influential factor in the "sterile/mineral" ratio, which requires a reflection on the felling operation.

Use Of Transmission Loss (Tl), Absorption Coefficient (α) , Reverberation Time (Tr), And Transmission Coefficient (τ)Applying Reverberant Room Method, For Assessment And Evaluation Of Acoustic Quality Of Some Residential Buildings In Calabar City, Nigeria

Effiong O. Obisung* and Fina O. Fathpraise+
Abstract:
The use of transmission loss (TL), absorption coefficient ,reverberation time (TR), and transmission coefficient at frequency of 1000HZ (1KHZ) to assess and evaluate the level of acoustic quality of some residential buildings in Calabar City, Nigeria, applying sound reverberation room method was investigated. A digital sound level meter (SLM)- Bruel & Kjaer (B&k), type 732 with frequency level range (31.5 – 8000Hz) and sound level range (30-150 dB) was used to obtain sound pressure levels (Lps) directly in both source room (SR) and reception room (RR) at various residential buildings under study. Lps were taken at frequency of 1000Hz which is (our frequency of interest). Measuring tape (MT) was used to obtain dimensions (in metres, m) of the reception rooms (RRs) in length (L), width (W) and height (H), to help calculate the various total surface areas (S) in metre –squared (m2) and volumes (V) in metre – cube (m3) of the RRs. Stop clock was used to obtain reverberation times (TR) in the RRs from which absorption coefficients ( ) were obtained applying appropriate sabine equation. From the results obtained, most residential rooms in our buildings were not acoustically comfortable because of poor TL, poor , large TR and weak generated.

Civil Birth Registration: “The Right to a Name”, a Reality in the State Of Goiás

Wilma Aparecida da Fonseca Inocêncio, Karla Kellem de Lima, Ronaldo Rosa dos Santos Júnior and Luana Machado dos Santos
Abstract:
This article has an objective to study the project The Right to a Name from the State Government of Goiás with the Citizen Secretariat, understanding the causes that lead or have led parents to not register their children from birth. For starters, a bibliographic search was made to find civil and social rights, based on establishing the importance of birth registration in society. The results revealed that the eradication of under-registration should become a problem with national discussion and that they formulate policies that attend to social demand to a greater extent and bring positive effects to the needy population.

Pétrologie et implication pétrogénétique des cumulats mafiques de la région de Boudri en contexte granitique (Feuille de Boulsa, Centre-Est, Burkina Faso)

Zongo Wendkouni Passecdé Pauline, Wenmenga Urbain and Koffi Yao Honoré
